STRESS

Also
known as hormone stress, is famous for causing hair to fall
out and is not to be taken lightly. Stress can cause your
immune system to disfunction and put you in the hospital.
Stress can cause excessive daily hair loss or large chunks
of hair loss. Nioxin can be very helpful in reducing hair
loss from stress. |

MEDICATIONS

The
most common medications that are associated with hair loss
are the ones associated with hormone therapies, birth control
pills, blood pressure, diabetic, heart disease. Even acne
medications can cause temporary or permanent hair loss. Steroids
and specific chemotherapy's are common to hair loss as well.
The follicle is super sensitive to these medications and Nioxin
has the ability to gently detoxify these medications from
the follicles, bring in oxygen, repair damage and nourish
the roots. The results? Less hair in the drain and thicker,
stronger and healthier hair. Your hair will literally grow
twice as fast. |

DIET

The
follicle (the birth place of the hair), needs a daily
supply of proteins and carbohydrates for the hair to fully
develop. If one goes on a crash diet or has a high fat intake
diet, or whenever we short the body of proteins or carbohydrates,
the hair is effected and can result in excessive hair loss.
The Nioxin Bionutrient Treatment #2 and #2C or the Cytonutrient
Treatment are loaded with nourishment that feeds the floc.
If used with the Bionutrient Cleanser #1 or #1C and Scalp
Therapy, you will save your hair in 20 to 30 applications
(shampoos). |
|
ENVIRONMENT

Pseudo-Estrogens
(pseudo means false), that are in our food, air and
water, have the ability to throw our hormone balance off resulting
in hair loss. These can show up in young adults, as young
as 17 to 25. Nioxin cleanser #1 & #1C have the ability
to remove these toxins from the follicles. |

MENOPAUSE

Women
between the ages of 40 to 49 will run into a thinning hair
situation during menopause. When women go through menopause,
the estrogen level is low, it is the testosterone that converts
into DHT, dihydrotestosterone. In severe cases, this is known
as diffused alopecia, very similar to male pattern baldness.
DHT is the primary cause of thinning hair for 2 our of 3 men
and 4 our of 10 women. |

ALOPECIA
AREATA

Alopecia
areata is a dysfunction in the immune system. No one knows
for sure but under stress or certain medications, the immune
system can choke off the hair follicle resulting in hair
loss in spots.
-
Alopecia
Aerata - Baldness in spots
-
Alopecia
Aerata Totalis - Baldness all over the head
-
Alopecia
Areata Universalis - Loss of hair over the entire
body

PREGNANCY

Pregnancy
also has to do with the hormones usually after the birth of
a child. Again, women can be effected with this type of hair
loss. If you start using Nioxin Bionutrient #1 or #1C Cleanser,
Scalp Therapy and the Bionutrient Treatment #2 or #2C from
the second trimester all the way through the nursing period,
you will save a lot of hair. |
|
Let's
look at the common male pattern baldness. 2 out of 3 men
have this by the time they are 50. 4 out of 10 women also
have this hereditary hair loss between the ages of 40 and
49. Baldness is caused by high levels of testosterone, the
male hormone.
Testosterone
in and of itself is healthy, but higher levels of testosterone
covert into DHT (dihydrotestosterone). DHT is toxin that
deteriorates and miniaturizes the follicle. When you remove
the toxin that causes the hair to fall out, then the hair
stops falling out.

DEMODEX
FOLLICULORUM

A
microscopic mite (a living organism) has been associated
with thinning hair and hair loss. Demodex is in the same family
as mites, eyebrow mites, and hair mites. Demodex produces
an enzyme called lipase in order to live off the sebum in
the follicle. Lipase is what effects the quality, the appearance
and the condition of the hair. Nioxin's solution Semodex,
has the ability to remove lipase from the scalp skin. The
dermatology department at Tulane Medical University confirmed
in 1999 that 88% of men and women with thin looking hair had
the presence of Demodex. 91% of men and women with healthy
hair did not have Demodex Folliculorum. |
